Position Title: Retirement/Principle Pension Analyst IV

Location: Scarborough, ME

Position Summary:

The Retirement/Principle Pension Analyst IV is responsible for ensuring that the organizations employee defined contribution and defined benefit plans are administered according to plan provisions and company's regulatory guidelines. This position serves as a contact person for all retirement/pension plan issues. In this role, the Analyst will be expected to use independent judgment and decision making to evaluate and make recommendations about retirement and pension benefit plan administration. Maintains knowledge of the Company's retirement/pension plans and the processes necessary to administer the plans.



Principle Duties and Responsibilities:


* Responsible for leading and developing the processes related to the daily administration of the Defined Benefit Plans including, but not limited to: benefit calculations/elections, distributions and data management/reporting.



* Responsible for the processes related to the 401(k) Plan daily administration including, but not limited to:
contribution/loan/deferral file exchanges, loan/withdrawal processing and data management / reporting.

* Responsible for the union and non-union Annual Retirement Contribution (ARC) calculation and contribution process.

* Prepares analytical reports of retirement/pension costs and identify concerns or issues.



* Responsible for the compliance processes related to retirement/pension plans including, but not limited to:
Coordinates annual audits of the retirement/pension plans, prepares data and reporting for annual valuations, PBGC filing/premium payment processing and review/distribution of required notices and plan documentation.

* Assists Director in preparing agendas and coordinates materials for US and Global pension committee meetings. Attends meetings as required.

* Prepares funding requirements and, working with external investment advisors, determines liquidation requirements to meeting pension payment obligations.

* Supports finance to review actuarial reports, develop budgets, discuss actuarial assumptions, and review ongoing funding obligations.

* Reviews invoices for payment of all administrative expenses related to the retirement/pension plans and submits to Director for payment.

* Works with vendors, actuaries and consultants regarding the daily administration processes of each plan.

* Facilitates problem resolution between the service providers and/ or claimants.

* Supports Company goals of continuous improvement and operational excellence at strategic and tactical levels including reviewing area of responsibility for improvement opportunities to initiate projects or communicate ideas to management as well as active participation on project teams.



RequirementsBasic Qualification:


* Bachelor's degree in business or related discipline and/or the equivalent combination of education/experience/training

* 5-10 years of experience in employee retirement and pension plan administration, payroll, accounting or other relevant discipline.

* Specific knowledge of the types of retirement/pension plans offered by the Company, including defined benefit and defined contribution plans

* Expert knowledge of laws/regulations pertaining to retirement/pension plans.

* Ability to research/resolve problems or issues in a timely manner.

* Ability to work independently to resolve issues or problems on a day-to-day basis.

* Strong communication skills oral and written

* CEBS or similar certification preferred; similar preference for actuary or accounting certifications (FSA, ASA, EA, CPA)

* Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

* Ensure data integrity while coordinating information from multiple sources across the company.



* Manage relationships with internal partners and work with Director on conflicting priorities
